Catherine the Great is a female Great Pyrenees estimated to be born in 2006. She's calm and easy going, enjoys long walks and car rides. She's very well behaved and knows a few basic commands like sit and paw. Loves to sleep in bed with you. Crate and housetrained she makes for an easy addition to a low key family. She's good with other dogs but would do best with larger breeds. Although she currently resides with cats for their sake she would do best in a home without them.
She came into rescue in rough shape. Very dirty, loaded with hookworms, positive for heartworms, bad ear infection and terrible bladder infection. As we are treating her she is fast becoming a happy healthy dog. As we watch her go from sad and sick to beautiful, active and healthy It warms our heart. She'll run and play with the other dogs. She's bright and alert with a spring in her step. She's a really great dog, currently (2/10) weighs in at 80 pounds but is underweight and should be gaining over the next couple weeks.
All dogs/puppies available for adoption through SVPR have been vet checked, vaccinated appropriately for their age, spayed/neutered, treated for internal and external parasites, and microchipped with Home Again. Dogs over 8 months are tested for heartworm disease. Catherine is heartworm positive and being treated for the parasites.
