Dan is a gorgeous red classic tabby male born in May 2009. He's a very special cat who needs a special home. Dan had a very rough start to life. Just a baby he was found on the side of the road after being hit by a car. His rear legs were paralyzed. X-rays showed a fracture of the spine but with much hope and prayer Dan was given a chance to heal. While his spirit healed and he became a wonderful kitten loved by all he didn't make much progress in the walking department. After many failed attempts at trying in vain to restore his ability to walk (acupucture, herbs, amputation of the leg without feeling, physcial therapy) it was decided that Lieutenant Dan would likely not walk. Then an injury to the still unfunctional leg with feeling resulted in another amputation. While this wasn't a problem for anyone, including Dan who gets around just fine scooting along, the bathroom problems were. See Dan can't go to a litter box and while he has much better control these days and raw diet has made stool clean up a sinch this is a problem for most adopters. So Dan needs a patient caregive who doesn't mind a little extra clean up. He does best on tile floors that are easily cleaned. He gets around well and isn't in any pain. He is very fast if he doesn't want you or the dogs to catch him. As for his personality you won't meet a nicer guy. His zest for life is heartwarming and everyone that meets him falls in love. This real life lieutenant Dan (from the movie Forest Gump) needs his forever home.
So if you think you might be that special one please contact tropicllc@msn.com to meet Dan, no doubt he'll steal your heart. Also happy to answer any questions.
