Licorice is a long-haired, fluffy and beautiful, female black cat that was rescued from SACC back in October 2005. She was 10 weeks then, making her about 3 years old now. She had been found with 3 or 4 other siblings after their mom was hit by a car. They were only 2 weeks old and had to be nursed back to health. She is also named after her color, Licorice. She gets compliments all the time on how beautiful she is and she knows it. She thinks she is a princess. Needless to say, she is also a big lover! She will lick you to death and wants to be all over you and in your arms and snuggled up next to you. She is not as smart as Ash and therefore, gets into more trouble than him by jumping on counter-tops and such and is a little more skittish. She's also ditzy but it fits her perfectly. She is the submissive one. She is also the sweetest and most-loving cat in the world! Ash is named for his color - a fuzzy gray and white, tiger-striped male cat... His birthday is around the beginning of September of 2003, making him just 5 years old. He is very smart, but it is his way on his time. If you are on the couch, he has to be on the couch too but at the opposite end. He hates to be held but will come to you when he wants some love and affection. He always has to sleep at the end of the bed at night and loves to have his belly, butt and chin scratched. Even though it's on his time with his owner, he gets very frisky and flirty with strangers. He is a little overweight and always has to eat first, before the female who just sits back and waits for him to finish. He is definitely the alpha in the family and has a little attitude but in a good way. Overall, he is a very well-behaved cat and you do not have to worry about him getting into trouble. Hes also had many compliments on how well-behaved he is. Oh and he is a great bug catcher and killer!!! Overall, Ash and Licorice are like brother and sister. They play, fight, clean each other, love each other and keep each other company during these difficult times of ours. But they are also exact opposites of each other. For Ash, it's on his time and for Licorice, she could never get enough loving. However, with strangers, Ash gets very frisky and Licorice hides until she feels comfortable enough to come back out. They are each other's best friends and we want to try to find them a home together that can give them the love and affection they deserve.
