Penny is a red nose female about 2 years old. She's a calm sweet natured dog that listens well and is so sweet. Her soulful eyes will melt your heart. Penny has known a life of suffering and remained so forgiving and loving in spite of it all. She is currently being treated for severe demadex which is not contagious to people, dogs or other animals. Her complete recovery will take many months but she will improve every day. She is also heartworm positive and will need to be treated once she has recovered from the mange. Please don't let these conditions keep you from bringing this wonderful dog into your life. She can be fostered by the adopter until her complete recovery and treatment which will all be covered by the rescue. At her medical release she can be "officially" adopted. There is no reason she can't start her life with her new family now though. Penny is good with other dogs, cats, and kids. As she is starting to feel better she is starting to come to life. She will play with the other dogs and is starting to wag her tail with anticipation of the things that she enjoys. She is housetrained and perfectly crate trained. She is very food driven and loves snacks and therefore is very easy to train. She never jumps on you and listens very, very well. She is quiet and peaceful and just loves to be with her family. She will follow you from room to room and lay by your feet. She is gentle and loving and doesn't have a mean bone in her body. She even allows the cats to rub all over her and eat from her food dish. Penny is truely a grateful dog that has never known real love, please find it in your heart to give her the bright future she deserves. All dogs/puppies available for adoption through SVPR have been tested for Heartworm and are on Heartworm prevention, are neutered or spayed, have received all age-appropriate vaccines, and are free of internal and external parasites.
