Five little piggies, all rescued from the county shelter. Animal control tells us they were taken from undesirable conditions from the same location we got our last group of 9 piggies. All the females were released to rescue. If you are looking for a male piggie PLEASE visit the South Animal Care Center on Eau Galle in Melbourne. We were not allowed to pull the boys. This sweet lady is Glory. She is a young female piggie. She is a little frightened but a sweet girl who loves to be petted. She is currently nursing her three little babies. She cannot go to a forever home for another 2-3 weeks when her babies are weaned. Please consider adding Glory to your family. She deserves a forever home filled with love and kindness. ******UPDATE: Glory's babies have gone to forever homes and now Glory awaits hers. She experienced some minor hair loss due to stress of the babies and the loss of her home. She has been seen by the vet and is doing quite well. Her coat is starting to fill back in nicely. With a stable home, good food and a soft clean cage she will be just fine. ******** Please do your research on these special animals to make sure they are the right choice for your family. Check out www.guinealynx.com for great piggy information. SVPR will not adopt out solitary piggies. But a piggy can go to a home for a companion for another same-sex piggy. There is a minimum cage requirement to adopt any of our small pets listed here. Please see www.cavycages.com for more on cage size standards. The adoption fee is $20 for one, $30 for 2 piggies. For more information on this or any of our rescued piggies please contact Debi at Luv2bemama@yahoo.com.
