My name is Carson McFarson, I was found in late August of 2011 wandering the streets.  No one claimed me and I was put up for adoption.  I was in my first foster home for about 2 months, I lived with a woman, a 6 year-old boy, 4 dogs and 4 cats.  I loved that home and everyone in it and I got along great with everyone.  I was adopted to my first home in November to a woman and her 2 boys and another dog.  Things were great until I got possessive of my human mom and was returned.  Back in foster care, my original foster mom’s aunt me in.  She has no kids and no other animals, it is pretty awesome to get all of her attention, I must admit.  In December another family wanted to adopt me, my original foster mom was hesitant of adopting me to a household with kids and she decided to give it a try anyway.  Alas, I ended up getting possessive of my mom in this house too.  I am back with my second foster mom.  I think I would best fit into a household with no kids – although I do love kids and love to play with them, it is too much for me to try to share them with my adoptive “person”.  I love to snuggle, I love to go on walks and I love to play.  I am kennel trained and I prefer to be in my kennel when my person is not home.  I have been known to eat yummy things like chapstick and underwear when left unattended.

Please email or call the specific foster listed with the description of the animal you are inquiring about for any questions.  You may fill out an application online using the Forms tab.  Most of our fosters work in addition to volunteering with the shelter, so they will try to respond as quickly as they are able.

Dogs are $150-$250 to adopt depending on age and breed.  All dogs/puppies available for adoption through SVPR have been vet checked, vaccinated appropriately for their age, spayed/neutered, treated for internal and external parasites, and microchipped with Home Again.  Dogs over 8 months are tested for heartworm disease.
