Alaska flew to us all the way from the Bahamas.  A very mixed breed they call "potcakes" he is a male and was probably born sometime in December 2013.  These dogs are usually medium to large size and are a mix of the mixed breeds on the island.  A shy and quiet pup he's super cute and has a lot of love to give.  He brought a chewing lice with him that caused him to lose much of his fluffy hair but he has been treated and should have his full coat back in a few weeks.  Alaska is good with kids, cats and dogs.  If you are interested in Alaska please complete an application on our www.svpr.rescuegroup.org website and email Tina at tropicllc@msn.com with any questions.

See his travel companion Ashley on our website.  She made the trip with him and is also available for adoption.

Please email or call the specific foster listed with the description of the animal you are inquiring about for any questions.  You may fill out an application online using the Forms tab.
Most of our fosters work in addition to volunteering with the shelter, so they will try to respond as quickly as they are able.

Dogs are $150-$250 to adopt depending on age and breed.  All dogs/puppies available for adoption through SVPR have been vet checked, vaccinated appropriately for their age, spayed/neutered, treated for internal and external parasites, and microchipped with Home Again.  Dogs over 8 months are tested for heartworm disease.
